The Castle of Castiglione della Pescaia ranks above a promontory, in the highest part of the medieval Old Town, dominant Castiglione and a vast stretch of coast Maremma. The complex was built built around the tenth century as a simple warning tower, built by the people Pisano, called at first under the name Tower of Pisa. In the centuries that followed was built were two other towers, while the curtain walls and buildings including among them were built in Renaissance. The complex had numerous constructive restructuring, the first with the intervention of Lorraine in the late eighteenth century, and finally the beginning of the twentieth century under the direction of Lorenzo Porciatti. The castle is composed of three towers from angular form, consisting of battlements although in a more heavy as the original Tower of Pisa, while in the other part is surrounded by masonry walls and an inner courtyard.
